Understanding Daikin Error Codes

Common Daikin Error Codes

U4 — Communication Error: One of the most frequent codes, indicating a communication breakdown between the indoor and outdoor units. This can be caused by wiring issues, a faulty PCB board, or power supply problems. We systematically test the communication circuit to identify the exact cause.

A3 — Drain System Abnormality: Indicates the float switch has detected high water level in the drain pan, usually from a blocked drain line. A thorough drain flush typically resolves this quickly.

E7 — Outdoor Fan Motor Error: The outdoor fan has stopped or is running abnormally. Could be a motor failure, capacitor issue, or fan blade obstruction. We test the motor, capacitor, and wiring to find the fault.

L5 — Compressor Overload: The compressor has tripped due to excessive current draw. This can be caused by high head pressure (dirty condenser coil, blocked airflow), refrigerant issues, or electrical problems. This requires prompt attention to prevent compressor damage.

A1 — Indoor PCB Error: A self-detected fault on the indoor unit’s control board. May require board replacement, though sometimes a reset resolves intermittent issues.
